Solio has been good to us in sending some cool solar charging products, and they didn’t let us down with their Clip-Mini. So when it came in, I headed out on a “far-off adventure” and brought along the Solio CLIP-MINI USB/Solar Rechargeable LED Flashlight. That way I was covered in case I was out later than I expected.
Boasting a high efficiency solar panel and an integrated rechargeable battery, the Clip-Mini allows you to use the clean energy of the sun to keep your light burning through the night. Stop limiting how far you’re able to go out of fear that your flashlight will run out of juice.
With an integrated rechargeable battery, the CLIP-MINI uses the power of the sun to keep it’s battery charged up! When the sun goes down, and you’re home, simply recharge the CLIP-MINI by plugging into the wall via the included USB charging cable.
I would say that being prepared for any situation would include adding this product to your emergency kit. The CLIP-MINI’s high quality battery stores power for up to a year so it’ll be ready to go when you need it. Paired with a Solio BOLT, you can charge your CLIP-MINI from the sun even quicker!
Slide down the red filter to soften the CLIP-MINI’s beam. When in flashing mode, the diffuser turns the CLIP-MINI into a bike safety light! Perfect for me!
The specs are as follows: Max light output is a booming 8.4 Lumens. With 4 x White LEDs, it pushes a beam white spot, or red flood. Charging via sunlight can take a 5-7 hour stretch, while thinking ahead and charging via USB/computer or wall will take about four hour.
Small, it’s an effective size of 6.3 x 2.6 x 0.8 in. that weighs in at a mere 3.6 oz. The CLIP-MINI comes with a micro USB to USB cable for charging the CLIP-MINI via USB port or the wall before you head out on your adventure. It is priced at an affordable $35 and can be bought at Solio’s website. I would say it’s a worthwhile investment and should at the least be added to your 2012 EOW kit.
