OK, we are ready to get wet. Julbo’s Dolphins showed up, and I’m polarized, hard to miss with the yellow arms strapped to my face, and ready for anything!

Julbo’s only floating sunglasses are the aptly named Dolphins. They float—see, dolphins swim, these float. Perfect, right? And yes, they are perfect for Oklahoma’s brown-ish lakes, where if you lose something, it’s just gone baby gone. However, if you were, say, waterskiing and lost these Dolphins… First, it would take serious speed to knock them off your head, since they come with a strap. And second, they’d float and nearly send out rescue signals with their bright florescent yellow arms.

I loved the polarization, and I liked the comfortable fit, but the floatability costs some style points, and unless you’re retrieving them from the murky waters of the lake, the black/electric yellow jacket combo is a bit jarring. However, for $100 for premium polarized sunglasses—the view through these lenses is crystal clear, cutting the glare on those nasty brown waters—the Dolphins are a pretty good price should you need rims that float. I’ll leave it to you to decide if it takes buoyant sunglasses to float your boat.
