We had the chance to check out some really vibrant Shiny Blue/Photo Rose Gun sunglasses from Bolle, their Diablo style, this summer. Replete with wire mesh vented temples and Thermgrip technology for comfort and grip, these suckers are an electric neon wrap of nylon technology that will get you noticed.
You won’t just be catching eyes in these, yours will be doing well, too, with Bolle’s bClear lenses and “self-rejuvenating anti-fog technology.” Together with oleo and hydro-phobic coatings to repel dirt and water, you’ve got a technological tour de force perched on your face.
I liked the Thermogrip, especially the area up front, along the top ridge of the glasses and extending down to the nosepiece. The Diablos are very comfortable, hug your face like a Segourni Weaver alien, and feel high quality. I liked the lens shape a lot and the overall fit of the frame. They stood up to all our abuse without a sign of wear.
While I’m not quite voyeuristic enough to crave the attention the Shiny Blue gets, Bolle has colors and lenses to fit your preferences—provided you don’t crave polarization. At $130, the Diablos are actually pretty competitively priced for premium sunglasses, and they fulfill their role for alpine pursuits with style. If you’re after glasses not everyone has (cough, Oakley), I recommend checking out some Diablos at a dealer near you.
