Adidas has taken on the outdoor world, and we had the chance to check out their Terrex Fast R Mid GTX shoes, their Swift Lite Shorts, and the Swift ½ zip tee this summer.

Featuring their Climalite quick-drying fabric, high energy coloring, and blue stripes to match the Fast R mids, the ½ zip tee is an eye-catching banner for adidas on the trail. It says to all other manufacturers in its best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression, “I am here. Fear me.”

While I’m a little too understated to go for the high-energy electric orange of our tester, you can’t argue with the comfort or breathability of the polyester Climalite fabric. It’s soft to the touch and wicks wonderfully, and while fellow outdoorspeople may need their sunglasses to look at you directly, you’ll love the feel of the shirt no matter how badly you sweat or what way you move. The zipper is nice for additional ventilation, and the Swift ½ zip plays along if you want to hike or cycle—adidas says it’s perfect for “high-speed alpine activities.”

Even the price is competitive with other top brands’ quick-drying shirts, and since it can be hiking shirt or serve as cycling jersey, you can get double duty out of it. Sale priced as of the writing of this article it comes in at $40 on adidas outdoor’s website. Plus, you’re buying a safety factor with the orange—if your “high-speed alpine activities” should end in an avalanche unexpectedly, you’ll be spotted and rescued pronto!
